I've been playing golf since I was young, I'mnot a good golfer, and game is all over the place. All my clubs before have been hand me downs or a clone set I'd put together online. Having only 3 sets in the last 35 years. I've never had a set built specificallyto me. After months of reading reviews I decided Fellinger Custom Golf was a good fit for me. The first fitting session when I arrived Brad was ready to go. He asked me about my game and what my expectations were. He asked if i hit my 3 or 4 iron often, and gave me the option to use my current blades and just re-shaft to save money. Brad didn't try to sell me on one brand or oversell me something I didn't need.He had me hit my clubs to see where I was, then took my clubs into the build room and checked flex, and length, and described what he was doing, and why with the science behind it. Then Brad set me up with a 7 iron, and had me hit it switching out several different brands of blades, then switching out shafts with different kick points and and stiffness. We went back and forth on shafts until we found the right feel, length and dispersion. I hit probably 8 different combinations until we got my dispersion and distance dialed in. He got another 35+ yards out of me with my 7 iron which I was hitting around 160 yards to 195-200 yards. Then we went to an 8 iron, and pitching wedge gaing distance and having a tighter dispersion than the irons I've been playing. Then he had me hit a 7 wood which I had never hit before switching out shafts until we found the right combination then to the 3 wood, and driver. The first fitting I hit over 300 balls. My shafts that I was hitting before the fitting were not the correct length, or flex and the grips were not right. Brad fitted me into a complete set that fit me very well, and I hadn't felt so good hitting balls. He gave me a few tips during the fitting which helped tremendously. It was like several lessons and fitting all in one. Brad kept in constant contact with me on the order and build process. I never felt like there was a lack of communication from the order and shipping process to arrival and build to once they were ready. Once ready I went to pick them up and he had me hit the clubs for just over an hour asking how they felt and if there was anything I thought that might need tweeked or adjusted. They felt great. Smooth, crisp, long, and a tighter dispersion than I'd ever hit. He asked me to play a few rounds and to get a couple range sessions in and he could tweek them if needed.
